Lighting vs. Brightening

Lightening involves reducing pigmentation and sun spots. The objective is not to bleach the skin, but to diminish unwanted blemishes and dark spots. Use products with Koljic Acid, Tranexamic, Hydroquinone, Alpha Arbutin. 

Brightening encourages radiant and glowing skin. Brightening revives your skin's natural radiance by eliminating dead skin cells. Use products with AHAs (such as glycolic, lactic, & mandelic acids), BHAs (salicylic acid), retinoids, & Vitamin C. 

Hydrating vs. Moisturizing

Hydrating involves the water content within cells, causing them to swell and appear plump and bouncy, which enhances light reflection. Use products with Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol, Glycerin, Urea.  

Moisturizing is about trapping an sealing in moisture to build the skin's protective barrier, prevent water loss and keep the skin soft and smooth. Use products with Ceramides, Squalene, Shea Butter, Colloidal Oatmeal.

Soothing vs. Repairing 

Soothing products visibly alleviate signs of irritation or sensitivity. They also diminish redness and after cooling, calming effect. Use products with Green Tea Extract, Panthenol, Centella Asiatica, Allantoin, and Colloidal Oatmeal. 

Repairing assists in fortifying the skin's barrier to fend off external agressors and irritants while locking in vital moisture while locking in vital moisture. Use products with Ceramides, Sunscreen, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Peptides. 

Balancing vs. Restoring

Balancing aids in restoring the skin's pH balance to prevent excessive dryness and stripping of its natural oils. Use products with Aloe Vera and balancing toners/face mists after cleansing and exfoliating.

Restoring helps to restore a more even complexion by removing the most damaged outer layers of skin to reveal the healthier-looking skin. Use products with AHAs (such as Glycolic, Lactic, & Mandelic acids), NHAs (Salicylic Acid), Retinoids, & Vitamin C.
